Mount Kelimutu, about 50 miles from Moni on Indonesia’s Flores Island, showcases an awe-inspiring display of three vibrant lakes within its summit craters.

The lakes each boast distinct colors: Tiwu Ata Mbupu (Lake of Old People) is blue, Tiwu Nuwa Muri Koo Fai (Lake of Young Men and Maidens) is green, and Tiwu Ata Polo (Bewitched Lake) is red.

Despite being in the same location, their colors change periodically due to chemical reactions from minerals and volcanic gases, a phenomenon that intrigues geologists.
