This year MasterCard is going to…

This year MasterCard is going to remove credit card numbers and enable their cards to work with biometric ID, with "Tokenization."

That's right, you get to pay with a smile or a wave. 😁 👋🏻

We all know how easy those are to duplicate, especially with tech like AI, so some sort of more robust system will likely be invented, something along the lines of a mark could be coming next, and probably will.

They're only keeping the card to keep people from freaking out as much. Slowly boiling the frog, so to speak.

Use more cash. Withdraw cash, pay with cash as much as possible. Keep cash alive. They can't track cash unless everyone logs and reports serial numbers, which will never happen.
